What lives, at the back of our mind

is it all love, that makes us blind

or are they thoughts, rather unkind

dismissive of all mankind.

what is secluded in the very back

behind that last row of chairs

always lurking, ready to attack

shushing, sneering, asking: "who cares?"

He cares! He built our minds, our hearts

designed to be like His church

resonant to organ pipes, heaven's harps

reminding us of everyone's worth

Load your table with God's word

with God's law fill your cup

Let God's will in your heart be heard

Lift your thoughts, to heaven: up!

Let the sound of God's Goodness

Be your stronghold, through times of distress

Let the music of God's forgiveness

Bless everyone who crosses your path.

Amen
